ChristChurch City Council Property File Digitisation Project

Christchurch City Council's preferred option for its vast collection of property files was for them to be digitised on-site.

Desktop Imaging created a scanning bureau, which met all the Concil's requirements, in the city's Tuam Street.

The one-year pilot programme included Desktop Imaging Recruiting six full-time staff, the installation of specialist equipment including two production scanners, two research scanners and two large format scanners.

The files are now backed up and easily accessible and the Council's introduction of a small fee for accessing files has ensured the exercise is self funding.
