Wide Format scanning is the process of scanning documents that are larger than A3 size such as site plans, drawings, maps, diagrams and blue-prints then converting them into digital format such as TIFF, PDF or JPEG.
The main advantage of plan scanning or drawing scanning is to preserve ageing of single copy drawings in a secure electronic format from which they can then be easily accessed very quickly.
Drawings of various types and sizes can be scanned from a maximum of 1.3m wide and unlimited length. Scanned drawings can also be used as a template to convert documents to CAD or GIS formats.
